My deepest sympathy and prayers for the Noël family. Jerome was such a dear friend for so many years. He and the family were always so gracious, kind and good to me. What a wonderful experience it was for me to be involved with such a loving and caring family. My heart goes out to all of you during
this difficult time. Jerry and I had so many fun, wonderful and memorable
times. I will always cherish those memories.

Jerry was a grade school friend and a good athlete. He was a gutsy football player an excellent outfielder. But my most cherished memories are from high school days when Jerry was the drummer in our struggling and talent-poor rock band, “The Thoughtless Wonder”. His parents graciously let us practice downstairs in their Williams Creek home until the neighbors complained, whereupon we moved the drums and equipment to my parents’ home. One Saturday evening as we were setting up to play for a party, we discovered that both microphones had broken in transit. One of us (??) suggested “borrowing” the microphone from the pulpit of St. Luke Catholic Church. (We put it back just in time for the first Mass the next day.) Jerry, you will always be a part of those special memories. My deepest sympathies go out to his family.

To all the Noel Family;
I am very sorry for your loss.
I was 2 years behind Jerry at La Lumiere, my late brother Bill was one behind. Jerry was a gritty athlete both on the football field and on the wrestling mat. I wrestled a couple of weights under Jerry but I endured practicing against him as he relished in twisting, turning and pretzeling me in a variety of moves. He made me a better wrestler for my weight class (after a few chiropractor visits).
Thoughts and prayers for all the Noel family.

I can only imagine the sorrow and loss you feel, and my heart goes out to you. Two of the finest men I have known are Jerome and his dad. They made a big difference in my life, and I am so grateful to have known them. May God comfort and strengthen you, as only He can. My thoughts are with you.

My deepest condolences on the passing of your husband, father, brother, and uncle. As many of his friends (from 5th grade on) will attest, Jerome was always in the midst of our good times. As children we carpooled to dance cotillion, caused mischief at the drive-in movies, and laughed constantly. Later, as neighbors, we continued to enjoy our friends and the freedom of having the car keys. He will continue to be a part of our stories and remembered for the wonderful person he always was.
Marlene Mehn says
Michele, I am so very sorry to hear this. You and your sons will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Noel Family,
Please accept my condolences for your loss. Death is not easy to accept, much less to cope with. It’s comforting to know that Our loving Heavenly Father Jehovah understands your pain. He promises us that “He will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more neither morning nor outcry nor pain any more..” (Revelation 21:4) He promises to return our loved ones who have passed. (Acts 24:15) To learn more about God and his loving purpose for us please visit JW.org.

Jerry Noel was a very special person. We were classmates at La Lumiere and I consider myself lucky to have known him. Jerry had a fantastic sense of humor, a sharp wit and a great laugh. He was very smart, and I always enjoyed our lengthy conversations late at night in the dorm, after “lights out,” or around a campfire, or when we were sneaking smokes in the woods or at a diner in La Porte in the middle of the night. We stayed in contact over the years, and I knew his health wasn’t great, but I was shocked to hear that he died. I am praying for his family. He was so proud of you guys, always saying how wonderful Michelle and the “boys” are. I will miss him terribly, and I can only imagine the pain you all must be going through. Jerry really was one in a million.

I have thought of Jerry, Michele and the family almost incessantly since hearing the news. Jerry and I spoke regularly over the phone in recent years so I knew his health was declining, but he always preferred to focus on topics that were more interesting and engaging – his boys, LaLumiere, politics, food (mostly jams and preserves and the proper preparation of salmon), boating and of course fishing. As classmates at LL, I learned from him that there was a “right way” of doing practically anything in life, and Jerry had thought about almost everything he did, in search of that right way. He led by example. He wasn’t indifferent about anything, really.
Over the decades we shared many mutual interests and although we didn’t agree all the time, I was always reminded of his passion for life and a good exchange of ideas. I will really miss those conversations and my friend Jerome.

Michelle and Family, I just recently heard of Jerry’s passing. He’ll be missed in the Les Cheneaux Islands of Michigan where he loved his summer island home and boats! I think of Jerry and one of the kindest and generous people I’ve known. He was always so thoughtful of others. I enjoyed his friendship and our phone conversations!
